Post Prom Celebration
Maine South CELEBRATION 2011
MS Celebration 2011 is a parent/community sponsored, chaperoned, substance-free Post Prom Event designed to provide a safe and fun alternative to other private parties that are normally associated with post-prom. Maine South seniors and their dates who attend the prom as well as seniors who choose not to attend the prom are invited. Celebration is a traditional event that graduates look forward to as much as the Prom itself. All seniors are encouraged to attend.
Maine South Celebration 2011 will be held on Friday, June 3rd after the prom.
Celebration 2011 will feature the following events:
- Something for Everyone! A fun-filled good time including dancing, playing video games, playing pool, bowling, a photo booth and spending quality time with your friends at the Brunswick Zone Center in Niles. Pizza, snacks and soft drinks will be served.
- A “Mystic Sunrise Cruise” on Lake Michigan, complete with breakfast and a DJ.
- All transportation between venues on Coach buses.
NIGHT OF EVENT INFORMATION - REMINDERS
Celebration 2011 is designed to provide senior students with a safe, fun and entertaining evening. Below is a recap of the Standards of Behavior you agreed to when you purchased your ticket:
- All Maine South school rules and policies apply for this event.
- All attendees need to bring a current photo I.D. and their Celebration 2011 ticket.
- All attendees must remain inside venues at all times. No attendee may leave or exit a venue without a parent or guardian.
- You and your date have been assigned to a bus and you must travel on the same designated bus all evening. Attendees CANNOT drive to venue.
- A check-in and count of all attendees will be taken before each departure point.
- Bottles, cans, and other containers are not allowed on the buses or in the venues.
Backpacks, duffels, and large purses are not allowed on the buses or in the venues. NO EXCEPTIONS.
- Cameras, small purses or wraps may be brought to Celebration but are the sole responsibility of the owner.
- All participants and guests, including but not limited to purses, bags, and personal belongings, are subject to search.
- If you like, you will be permitted to bring a change of clothes consisting of jeans or slacks, top, jacket and shoes. You will be allowed to change clothes at the Brunswick Zone venue. These must be brought in a clear bag (provided). Remember, it will be cool on the boat so we strongly recommend bringing a jacket or sweatshirt.
- You will receive your clear bag when you check in at school. All change of clothing items must be placed in the clear bag (s). No other bags, totes or backpacks will be permitted. Clothing and shoes will be stowed in the baggage area of the bus until arrival at Brunswick Zone.
- You will be able to “check” your Prom attire at the Brunswick Zone to be picked up Saturday June 4 with appropriate identification between the hours of 4pm to 7pm. We will be providing the hangers and bags.
Any violation of said rules and regulations set forth in this document and/or at the discretion of the Celebration 2011 Chaperones will result in the immediate removal of the attendee and their guest and a designated parent or guardian will be notified to pick up their child immediately. Celebration has the right to decline any questionable attendee from participating in Celebration 2011. All monies are non-refundable.
