2020-21 Course Selection Information

Dear Parents/Guardians and Students,

We hope that this email finds all of our families healthy and supported by District 207 and your child’s school. As always, if you need anything please reach out to any administrator and we will provide any support we can to you and your family.

Based on the email sent to all families from Dr. Wallace on Monday, May 18, we would like to share with you information regarding your child’s course selections for the 2020-2021 school year.  There is no need to change your course selections based on any potential scenarios for conducting school in the fall. We will be monitoring the situation throughout the summer and will keep families updated on any changes that may need to be made to student course selections as a result of recommendations from the Illinois Department of Health, Center for Disease Control and the Illinois School Board of Education concerning how students will attend school to start the school year.

In the Infinite Campus Parent Portal you will find a list of the courses in which your child will be enrolled for the 2020-2021 school year. To access the list of courses, please go to the “More” page under the main menu, then select “M207 Scheduled Classes”. Classes will be listed in alphabetical order by course name. Full year classes will appear twice, once for each semester. This is NOT a schedule. If you have more than one child in District 207, you may view another child’s courses by selecting the profile icon at the upper right corner. Your child will receive his/her final schedule (including assigned teachers and periods) on the first day of school. At this time, please carefully review with your child the courses for next year.

This is a student centered process that involves the school’s commitment to do everything it can to place your child in the classes he/she has requested. As a result, the 2020-2021 master schedule has been created to accommodate student course selections as much as possible. Consequently, we ask that our students keep to their commitment of the course selections that have been built into the school’s master schedule. We have allocated resources appropriately and responsibly based upon student course requests and enrollment.

If there is an error in your student’s course selection, please contact your counselor no later than Tuesday, May 26, 2020.

Sincerely,

Dr. Linda Rutschke, Associate Principal, Maine East
Mr. George Dagres, Associate Principal, Maine South
Mr. Dave Matkovic, Associate Principal, Maine West
