Start of School Information

Welcome back to Maine South High School!  We would like to provide you with the information you and your family will need to be fully prepared to start the new school year in August.  The entire Maine South faculty, staff, and administration will do whatever we can to make the start of the school year as smooth as possible.

General Information

  • Please visit the START OF SCHOOL PAGE for access to important information.
  • Completing registration and fee payment reminders have been coming from our district office through the Spring.  The majority of you have taken care of everything and if you still have questions, please email Noreen King at [email protected].
  • The front circle will remain closed all summer due to construction.  Access will be at door 8 (A-wing door that faces Dee Road).  Interior construction is on time.

First Days of School Dates

  • Seniors/Juniors only on Monday, August 15th, all day.
  • Sophomores only on Tuesday, August 16th, all day.
  • Freshmen only on Wednesday, August 17th, all day.
  • ALL STUDENTS begin together on Thursday, August 18th.

I would also like to invite every parent to our successful event: Our First Hawk Boot Camp.  Even if you have had students attend Maine South before, all are welcome!  The school administration will take parents through the basics from student life, to discipline procedures, technology procedures, grading policies, and how parents can engage with the school.  The event will be Thursday, August 25th from 5:30-8:30pm.  Registration is available via our Parent Engagement page on our website.

This is my sixth year as Principal and I’m looking forward to getting to know you and your students and seeing the amazing things they do in the classroom, on the athletic field, on the stage, or even in Washington D.C. as a member of our nationally recognized Constitution Team.  We want all Maine South students to dream big, work hard, and SOAR like a Hawk!

If you have questions or comments, please feel free to reach out anytime or visit the school so we can help.  Enjoy the rest of your summer and we’ll see you soon!
