The Fine Arts Department at Maine South High School is proud to announce that its annual indoor marching band concert featuring the Varsity Hawkettes will be held on Thursday, October 8 at 7 p.m. in the Maine South High School SPEC Gym (1111 South Dee Road, Park Ridge, IL 60068). This event is free and open to the public.
The concert will include a performance of the marching band’s Bruno Mars halftime show, stand tunes, classic school spirit songs and more. Conducted and performed entirely by students, this hour-long event also includes student-written section features performed by each section of the band.
The Maine South Music Boosters will also be hosting a fundraiser at the event, which includes a section feature competition, live auction with a prize of conducting the band and more.
“This annual action packed event is part concert, part pep assembly, and part fundraiser,” explains Maine South Band Director David Hutter. “Plus, this is a chance to see the band without battling the outside elements and the football crowds.”
